About the SPE London Section

The SPE London Section works closely with the industry, the government, the institutes and academia to advance the learning of its members in all aspects of the industry; offshore and onshore, nationally and internationally.

Our members are active in all walks of life within our industry and hold cross disciplinary seminars with our many colleagues across many institutes and organisations.

With over 2,500 members, several student chapters and a very strong board we aim to enhance the industry experience and help people achieve their true potential.

We have close links with our colleagues in Aberdeen on both the SPE-UK website and the SPE Review magazine. With Aberdeen we have retained the SPE-UK front page to emphasis the UK-wide support that is available to students and our members along with the broader support that the SPE offers world-wide.

On the London section of the website we want to tell you the whole story about all our activities, including school visits and career support, of which we are justifiably proud and to provide dedicate pages to our seminars.

SPE London Section latest news

We are proud to announce that members of the SPE London board have recently been awarded with three SPE Regional Awards and two SPE International Awards!  Arnaud Mille (below, right) was presented with the Outstanding Yound Member Award recognising his contribution and leadership to the public, community, the SPE and the petroleum engineering within the region.  Clara Altobell (below, middle) recieved the Regional Service Award for her devotion to the continuing education programs.  Professor Matt Jackson (not pictured) was presented with the SPE Regional Distinguished Achievement Award for his superiority in classroom teaching, excellence in research and significant contributions to the petroleum engineering profession.

The international awards were the Most Innovative Section Award, granted to only three sections around the world, and the Outstanding Section YP Committee Award, which commended the London YPs for having the ‘Most Improved Committee’.
