Getting involved in Aberdeen SPE - create, learn, collaborate, enjoy

What might you do?

Any of the following!

  • visit a local school to mentor and encourage students towards a career in energy, science ot technology
  • join the team that runs a social event like our annual BBQ
  • work in the group that organises an international  one-day conference on well abandonment (you might design the technical programme or coordinate the associated supplier exhibition or write and upload publicity material for our website or contact industry experts about speaking at the event or...)
  • support publication of a 16-page magazine with a circulation of up to 11,000
  • decide and deliver the programme of technical and social evening events for Aberdeen SPE next year
  • help do the accounts for an organisation with a six-digit turnover
  • organise an career development seminar for students at RGU, AU or one of the other universities affiliated to the section
  • design website content or section communication and marketing
  • visit a local scool to mentor and encourage students towards a career in energy, science or technology
  • whatever else you might like to do in support of knowledge sharing, lifelong learning and the pursuit of excellence in the oil and gas industry and beyond

Technical skills, marketing, networking, mentoring, personal development - you'll get a lot more out than you put in!
