14.50 - 15.40  Ambition

Women continue to be underrepresented in traditionally masculine occupations and in the upper echelons of most organisations. It has been argued that this inequality reflects inherent gender differences in ambition that lead women to 'opt-out' of organisational life. We will talk about our program of research that demonstrates that rather than being fixed and dependent of gender, ambition can, at least in part, determined by organizational culture, stereotypes, role models, and identity. We will provide practical examples of the way in which organisations can make the most of women's abilities and retain their talent.

Dr. Michelle Ryan, Associate Professor, University of Exeter

15.40 - 16.15  The Hidden Secrets of the Undergarment……..

Ever wondered if you’re wearing the right undergarments for your outfit?  Are you completely baffled when you walk into a shop by the number of choices you have?

During this session, representatives from John Lewis Oxford Street, will offer us their advice on all different types of undergarments and their affects, along with which colours are best for different types of clothes.  The team will give us some tips and secrets to help with everyday life and prove what a confidence booster it can be when you get it right!

Stacey Crump, John Lewis, Oxford Street

16.15 – 16.45  Speed Mentoring/Networking
To finish the day, we will be putting into practice all of the knowledge, skills and techniques we have learnt in a speed mentoring session.

Like speed dating, delegates will be split into 2 groups; early/mid career and experienced/management. This activity will test your time management, communication and networking skills with just 10 minutes for quick fire questions and information sharing either individually or in small groups before the bell rings and it is time to move on!

This is both an opportunity for those in the earlier stages of their careers to benefit from the advise and experience of those more experienced – and for the more experienced ladies to benefit from the feedback and opinions of those working to establish their careers. Bring plenty of business cards!

Bunmi Titiloye, Capgemini UK & Emily Spearman, Scott Wilson

16.45 - 17.00   Close followed by networking drinks for all participants
