Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is a new initiative, which started in March 2009, held its first meeting in May 2009 and has already had its first event - SPE Aberdeen champions, held 13th August 2009.  The Committee is also organising the SPE Aberdeen section awards at Offshore Europe on 10th Sep at AEEC

The SPE Aberdeen Membership stands at 2,668 as at Aug 09 (unpaid members inclusive)  Paid member = 2111, (therefore unpaid members number 557).  Student membership stands as 711 at Aug 09 and Young Professional Membership stands 957 at Aug 09, (unpaid member inclusive). Paid YP members = 638, Unpaid YP members = 319.

The Goals and objectives of the Membership Committee are as follows:

• Recruit champions to promote various SPE events through encouragement and support of their SPE member colleagues, whilst recruiting other colleagues who are not members into the Society.
•  Encourage and support award nominations for SPE Aberdeen members at local, regional and international levels
•  Work with Programme committee to organise lunchtime meetings to promote SPE in different organisations
•  Work with ad hoc committees to organise annual dinners & balls that will include section awards to members that have made outstanding service or contribution to both SPE and the industry
•  Continue to follow up on membership dues
