Continuing Education Committee

The Continuing Education (CE) Committee is responsible for organising conferences for the Aberdeen SPE Section.  These are often well established, regular events – alternative, new events are provided according to industry demand.  These events can be in partnership with other organisations or the sole responsibility of SPE Aberdeen.

Last sessions events (2008 - 09) were as follows:

• 18th - 19th November  SPE ICoTA 14th European Well Intervention Round Table
• 12th - 13th May   DEVEX
• 9th - 10th June   Smart Energy
• 30th June   Well abandonment

The list of events for the 2009 - 10 session is nearly complete and is as follows:

• 18th -19th Nov   SPE ICoTA 15th European Well Intervention Round Table
• 17th -18th Feb   EuALF – European Artificial Lift Forum
• 10th - 11th March  SPE SMN Sand Management Forum
• 12th - 13th  May  DEVEX
• 30th June?   Well Abandonment? Being considered

The committee is currently starting to promote the ICoTA conference and there is a call for abstracts for the SMN Forum.

Each CE event is organised by a technical committee with a volunteer chairman.  Hulse Rodger & Co is responsible for all of the event management, and works for the committee
