Another Perspective Committee

What - Another Perspective is a much needed initiative to encourage female talent to enter the Energy industry and to provide mentoring and networking opportunities for those already working in the energy sector.

Why - "Another Perspective" - We want to support Gender Diversity within the Energy sector in order to expand opportunities for women in the Energy Industry.

Where - “Another Perspective” is a sub-committee of SPE Aberdeen Section .

THE OIL INDUSTRY THROUGH THE EYE'S OF A WOMAN

Current Event

The Another Perspective have organised a student career event for this
month. This is an evening event for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering
and Maths studying at the University of Aberdeen, RGU and Aberdeen College. The
presentation is focused on career progression, the importance of studying STEM
degrees and its relevance in the oil and gas industry.

Speakers: Leigh Ann Russell (North Sea Completions Engineering Manager,
BP), Katy Heidenreich (Group Account Manager, Schlumberger) and Alessandra D’
Alessandria (Geophysicists, Talisman).

Venue: Fraser Noble 2. University of Aberdeen
Time: 6.00pm for 6.30pm start.
Date: 27th of October.

This event is open to all undergraduates and postgraduates students
at the universities and college but the target is for the women.

• Links to the industry and organisations to increase awareness and collaboration with schools will be undertaken.
