"Get Involved" - an open Board Meeting & Session Launch 2010-2011

When:         16:15 - 17:45 30th August 2010

Where:        Satrosphere Science Centre - 179 Constitution Street, Aberdeen AB24 5TU (map)

Why attend?
The Aberdeen section is run by a group of volunteers known collectively (and somewhat grandly) as "the Board". You can be part of that group - and get a lot more out of it than you might imagine. Board members will speak about activities planned for the coming year, and invite you to get involved in these activities.

This special open meeting provides the opportunity for you to learn more about how the section is run, ask questions and make suggestions. We hope that that what you hear will influence you to get involved yourself!

And there are many different ways to get involved:  What sort of things might you do? (more...)

What else?
All attendees gain free admission to the BBC “Walking With Dinosaurs” exhibition at Satrosphere which has been sponsored by SPE Aberdeen.

The Session Launch will be followed by the SPE Aberdeen Section Awards event – recognising the achievements and contribution of individuals in the local oil and gas community. A fun event to start the year - cocktails, magic, applause and live music...

Interested? No obligation! - just come along.  Take a look at the report of what we did last year.

Aberdeen is home to the largest SPE Section in Europe and one of the largest in the world. What do we do? Here's an snapshot:

  • Organise major technical conferences
  • Support fun technology projects in local schools
  • Set up career advisory events for students
  • Host barbecues for members and friends
  • Whatever else our members would like to do in support of knowledge sharing, lifelong learning and the pursuit of excellence in the oil and gas industry and beyond,

Come and listen!  30th August 16:15 at Satrosphere
